1983 Team

The rugby on the field is the same (almost) but of course the game is now professional. The players’ only job is to play rugby. They are valuable assets; they need managing, nurturing and hair products in order to perform to the highest level week in week out.

There is some parallel between the All Blacks and NCS.

In 1984 NCS council software consisted of Creditors, Debtors, Payroll, General Ledger, Rates, Dog Registration and Electoral Roll systems. These systems were usually supported by one NCS support person.

Today we have over 45 different systems. Not only that - those originals we installed in 1984 are unrecognisable. They are much more complex with many, many more features.

So supporting our systems has become a much bigger and more specialised job. It is no longer possible for one person to have the wide base of knowledge to support every piece of NCS software. Our support people have by necessity become specialists in the systems they support.
